My name is Elizabeth Putaura. I was born in Rarotonga and raised in New Zealand. I live in Nelson where I also received my BA in Counselling.

I have worked with a variety of issues. I have assisted clients with anxiety, depression, grief, domestic violence, sexual abuse, personality disorders, trauma, identity, relationships, stress, to name a few.

​

My work is client centered, trauma informed. Working with strength-based models, collaboratively we can unpack your story, explore your experiences/themes, challenge your predictions, support ways to mitigate the effects and encourage a course of action to positively impact your future through healing conversation.

  • Provided counselling services at a Women's Centre for 3 years, specializing in women's mental health and wellbeing.
  • Supported students with academic and personal challenges as a counselor at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology for over 2 years, contributing to their overall success and resilience.
  • Established and currently operate an online private counselling practice since 2023, offering accessible and flexible support for clients. 
  • Participated in professional development workshops focusing on cultural competency and diversity, enhancing the ability to support individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Worked closely with other agencies to provide support for participants during workshops
  • Engaged in ongoing professional growth through training, including workshops and seminars on trauma, cultural competency, and innovative counselling techniques.
