With over seven years of experience as a psychological counsellor working across Syria and Lebanon, Maysam Saade brings deep expertise and heartfelt dedication to her practice.

Specialising in trauma-informed care for refugees and individuals facing complex challenges, Maysam is skilled in behavioural monitoring, psychological assessment, and evidence-based therapies including CBT and ACT.

Her work with international organisations has enriched her approach, equipping her with a wide range of tools and training to support those affected by sexual trauma and abuse.

Maysam creates a safe, empathetic space where clients can explore their inner resilience, heal from past wounds, and move toward emotional well-being.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology Counselling
  • Certificate in Health and Wellbeing
  • 300 hour Trauma Facilitator Training (in progress)

Experience

I have 7 years experience, both in New Zealand and overseas (across Syria and Lebanon) and can speak both Arabic and English.
I work with refugees for UNHCR, UNICEF, and NGO. 
I also work with Family court in Dunedin, and with refugees in NZ (online).
