Introduction
I've worked as a Clinical Psychologist for over 20 years - here in Aotearoa, previously mostly in The Kimberely in Australia, and before then in my homeland - South Africa.
I've a preference for Community Psychology and trauma work, and have worked in exciting contexts in Aboriginal communities in Australia and rural towns and rural villages in South Africa. I've worked with linguistically and culturally diverse communities including African refugees and asylum seekers. I've worked speciafically in contexts of gender-based violence in non-governmental orangations.
As a queer person myself, i have a special interst in supporting the rainbow community.
I strive to work creatively and holistically, using a mix of approaches including Mindfulness, ACT, psychodynamic psychotherapy. I mostly work with EMDR these days as it's such a great tool in trauma work! I consider spirituality and energy, and enjoy using art therapy and transpersonal heart-centred hypnotherapy as needed.
